Racine Unified expands Hour of Code to more elementary schools

Expanding Computer Science

Last year Racine Unified, in partner with Higher Expectations for Racine County and the Chicago non-profit Dream Hustle Code, launched its first Hour of Code. This one-hour introduction to computer science and shows kids the basics of computer coding. 

Starting this year, with the help of Higher Expectations, the Hour of Code has expanded to for more elementary schools. Now, students will get this basic introduction into coding at Red Apple, Julian Thomas, Dr. Jones, Olympia Brown, Fratt, Janes and Mitchell elementary schools.
