Know Your Number: Tracking Our Community’s Growth
Community Data
Data isn’t just numbers. It is a tool that helps us set goals and take action. At Higher Expectations, we track key educational and economic milestones each year. This helps us understand how our community is progressing and where more support is needed. Our "career to cradle" approach provides guidance from early childhood through adulthood. This work strengthens our workforce and helps Racine County thrive. When we see progress, we know our community’s efforts are working. If progress slows, it shows us where challenges remain.
Here’s a look at the 2023 Outcomes Data featured in our recent annual report. This timing reflects data availability, as Wisconsin and other reporting entities release finalized data at year-end:
These numbers reflect progress in key areas, but they also show us where we still have work to do. Each data point represents real students, families, and future community members. To learn more about how each outcome area is defined and the most current data, click here.

Members of our team attended StriveTogether’s annual national convening last September, where we committed to our number of 14,222 and connected with other collective impact organizations across the country focused on increasing economic mobility.
Know Your Number
As part of StriveTogether’s national network, we are committed to increasing economic mobility for 4 million people across the U.S. by 2030. Here in Racine, our contribution to that goal is clear: we aim to positively impact 14,222 individuals.
How did we arrive at that number? We examined key education and career milestones like kindergarten readiness, third-grade reading, and high school graduation. We established a baseline for success rates and set goals for improvement alongside key stakeholders. By tracking progress each year, we can measure our impact and adjust our efforts to meet the needs of Racine residents..
We want our community data to be accessible and understandable to everyone. We encourage you to explore our data dashboards and see how Racine County is working toward shared goals.
