This year, United Way is hosting its second annual Week of the Young Child Celebration: A day of free family activities from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 21, at Knapp Elementary School (2701 17th St., Racine). The event will include community resources, hands-on family activities, performances and much more.
Higher Expectations partners with United Way of Racine County on a number of initiatives that support young children and provide them with the tools they need to become proud learners and successful students. The Week of the Young Child is a week-long celebration of young children and their families and their skill development before they start school. During the week, events are hosted across the country to raise awareness about the needs of young children and celebrate current programs focused on early childhood development.
All of this week, you can read more in the Journal Times about the work that United Way and other partner organizations are doing to support young children in our community.
