Educators Credit Union, in partnership with Racine Unified School District, are working together to organize a unique hands-on learning opportunity for many high school students throughout the district. More than 1200 students will have the opportunity to test their money skills in a safe and educational environment by participating in Reality Check Day. In order to make this event successful, we need YOUR help!
What is Reality Check?
Reality Check is an interactive, hands-on financial literacy event, which focuses on:
- Money Management Skills
- Writing Checks, Using a Debit Card and Keeping a Checking Account Register
- Budgeting Skills
- Importance of Career Selection
- Making Smart Purchasing Decisions
- The Impact of a Credit Score
When is Reality Check?
Reality Check Day will be held on Tuesday, April 17th and Wednesday, April 18th at Roma Lodge beginning at 7:00am until 2:30pm on each day. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
We are currently seeking volunteers to staff the different Life Stations. Life Stations will include real estate, insurance, apparel, groceries, government, utilities, etc.; all of which students will make purchasing choices and payments at. A volunteer’s role is to assist the student in making budget friendly choices and help them in keeping an accurate account register.
Please contact Victor Frasher at (262) 884-6630 or firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm yourself as a volunteer or with any questions.
