Higher Expectations celebrated the Week of the Young Child with United Way of Racine County at Knapp Elementary this past Saturday. The Week of the Young Child is a series of events across the country that raise awareness about the needs of young children and celebrate current programs focused on early childhood development.
This year, the Week of the Young Child blends fun activities with important skills such as literacy, problem solving, and fine motor skills. Developing these skills early enhances school readiness for students, an important step that has profound effect on student success in grade school and beyond.
