Higher Expectations for Racine County Youth will be hosting the Racine Labor Force Symposium, on December 7th, at the Racine County Country Club. The event is scheduled from 7:00 am until 9:30 am. Higher Expectations will provide results from the 2015 Workforce Skills Gap Survey followed by a panel discussion between attendees, students, and employers that highlight opportunities for employer engagement.
Higher Expectations launched the Workforce Skills Gap Survey to give the community actionable data about local labor force needs. The data collected from the survey identifies major workforce challenges for Racine County. The City of Racine has the highest unemployment rate in the state and 83% of local businesses report having difficulty finding enough qualified workers to operate effectively. The symposium will give attendees an opportunity to collaborate together on identifying solutions to address these challenges.
Through the symposium, Higher Expectations wants to express their appreciation to all of their partners, and discuss continued steps toward a fully-capable and employed Racine County workforce.
