On August 25, 2016 Wadewitz Elementary School welcomed new Kindergarten students and their families with an opportunity to meet their teachers and explore their new school through the Kinder Camp program. Kinder Camp, which was also offered by Giese and Fratt Elementary Schools, was designed to build relationships between students, families, and their teachers and to provide early exposure to kindergarten expectations. The Kinder Camp program included a scavenger hunt throughout the school with educational activities every student and family member could engage in.
Kinder Camp was an idea generated by the Higher Expectations Kindergarten Readiness Network, which is committed to improving kindergarten readiness throughout the greater Racine community. To learn more about the Network, click here.
