Community Power Consultant: Request for Proposals

For the past six years of our work at Higher Expectations, we have not focused enough on bringing community members, those who feel the heaviest burden of systemic challenges, into our work. We know that without community involvement where decisions are being made, we will not achieve our goal of truly changing the inequitable systems we know hold many of our community back from achieving their fullest potential.

In 2021, we have committed to bringing the community in to where decisions are made, and giving more community members the power to influence those decisions. We know that there are many community members who are emerging leaders in and around Racine, and we’d like to work with them to co-create our process for incorporating more community influence into decisions. 

We are requesting proposals from active community members in and around the Racine community to create and implement this process. Proposals are due by November 25th, 2020 and the Community Power Consultant will begin work with us in January 2020.
